I've been busy..

I've been busy, and I wish I could say that I was busy with crafting, but that's not the case..

Last Saturday and Sunday Abby was absoutely miserable. She did nothing but lay on the couch (both days). She was non-stop going to the bathroom. On Sunday it changed to looking kind of mucus-y (sorry, it's the only way I know to describe it..) and then on Monday morning when I went to change her, there was blood in her diaper. I knew that was not normal, so I had my Mom watch Lauren and I took Abby to the Emergency Room. As soon as we walked through the doors she knew where we were, as she'd been there earlier this year when she hurt her leg. Needless to say she gave the doctors and I a hard time the whole time we were there.. But I can't blame her.. I don't like hospitals either!

They ran a bunch of tests. Her urine came back fine, and they did a test on her stools. We get the results back from that some time before Friday.

Yesterday we went to the doctor for a follow up from the ER visit. The doctor determined that she has Salmonella poisoning.. A scenario sticks out it my head when Micheal and his brother were grilling some chicken and it wasn't done so they stuck it back on the grill for a few more minutes.. I was thinking maybe she got a piece that still wasn't cooked all the way..

We have been giving her clear fluids and medicine and she seems to be doing fine. Playing like her normal self. And her 2 year old attitude is back as well. ;)

I would like to ask that you keep my baby in your thoughts and pray that she stays well. And also that Micheal gets better.. He has a stomach bug and spent most of the night hugging the toilet if you know what I mean!

As far as crafting goes.. I started sewing some Christmas ornaments, but I can't figure out how to sew on vinyl! :( If anyone has a tip or trick, i'd love to hear!! I hate to say it, but I probably won't be posting much until after the holidays.. There is so much to do! Starting with baking, which I should be doing right now! :) Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Simple and CUTE dresses.

Recently I decided to pick one of the MANY tutorials that are filed away in my "Favorites" and get to sewing! This one was at the top so I gave it a go. :)

These were super easy and I finished them both up in one night! I love the outcome! I will definitely be making more of these!

Thanks for coming by my blog today. :) Off to bed for me!

Gobble gobble. :)

Just thought i'd share this little project that I did with my girls..

(Lauren's is not pictured.)

I got out my PTI bitty dot patterned paper and traced their handprint onto the back, then cut it out. Then I cut out a nose out of Pure Poppy and the turkey's wattle (?) out of Summer Sunrise. The eyeball is just a piece of white cardstock cut into a tiny circle and colored in with a black pen. Feet are done in pen as well, and the frame is one the cost 5 dollars at Walmart.

Oh, and I really am not sure if the thing under the turkey's neck is actually called a wattle, but that's what Google told me! Hahaha. :)

After we glued everything onto a piece of kraft cardstock, I decided to add their initials and the year with PTI's "Fresh Alphabet".

I think we will make this into a tradition. It will be fun to see how their hands grow each year. :)

YES!

I took my machine over to the sewing machine (AKA my Grandma!), and we replaced the needle and messed with the tension and VOILA! My zig zag stitch was as good as new. ;)

So, I got to finish Lauren's shirt that I had been applique-ing. Nothing too fancy but it's soo cute and simple! Word of advice, don't mind her hair in the picture, haha! She's still just as cute though, isn't she? :D

Thanks for coming to my blog today!

Sewing machine troubles..

I am having some trouble with the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine, so I haven't been able to finish up the project i'm working on. :( I am going to try and get it back to normal by tomorrow.. Wish me luck!!

Happy Birthday, Kristina (my Sister)! :)

So, last week (or was it the week before?), I set out to make my Sister something for her Birthday. I decided to make her a few cards, and with all of the excitement about PTI carrying notepads.. How could I not make her one?? :) I used Damask Designs (LOVE!) and Everyday Blessings with a color combo of Aqua Mist and Melon Berry. What do you think?

As always, you can click on it to see it better..

After I made these, I was brainstorming how to package it, but I am stumped! I am thinking of putting them in one of PTI's clear card boxes, but I don't know how I want to decorate it.. Ugh! Now you see why it has taken me this long to post this! I am so indecisive, lol!

Other than that, I am working on a sewing project. I will be finishing it up tonight. I was determined to get done last night, but I was literally falling asleep at the sewing machine so I put it on my list of things to do today. ;) So check back tomorrow for that if you'd like!

That's all for today!
